Row Boating on the Lake

I set a tripod up under the marquee of the Marriot Marquis in Times Square. My goal was to show a cab in motion against the backdrop of Times Square. While taking several images and moving in and out of the rain, a couple under an umbrella (at the rear window of the passing Cab), stole a kiss while waiting for the light to turn green. it just goes to show that it is better to be lucky than good:)
This was a difficult assignment, as each element in an image is important for the whole impression. In this photo, I used the staircase at the Museum of Contempory art as the framework. The staircase alone is a fascinating subject.
The man descending the staircase gives a counterpoint to the geometry of the stiarcase. He gives human interest to the photo.
Architecture, symmetry and the photo of the the woman sipping her drink on the wall forms the structure of this image. The man walking through the exhibit is an accent that creates more interest for the viewer. He helps give perspective to size of the image on the wall. He also acts as a vehicle for the viewer to put himself or herself into this space.
