While photographing on a snowy night in Manhattan I came across a scene I had photographed dozens of times before, the Statue of Atlas holding up the World just around the corner from Rockefeller Center. This night, the snow was lit by the statue's accent lights and I saw a composition from very low that gave this familiar scene a brand new look as the snow swirled around the imposing figure...almost bringing it to life. "Atlas in Snow" needed to be shot in Black and White and is part of a Series of mine entitled: Icons of NYC.
