Models that do nudes have become quite unaffordable for me, and I don't have any friends willing to pose. So, I rarely shoot nudes. Most of the time, I do it when I travel, so a hotel room doubles as a studio. This one came from a hotel room shoot in Las Vegas.
There were several different wall surfaces in the room, and I used them as a "studio backdrop" for a few images.
This was a memorable shoot. First, the model unexpectedly arrived with her sister in tow, which was a red flag for miscommunication. But it turned out to be a non-issue. We had an agreement on not shooting spreads. Ten minutes into the shoot, the model wanted to do a handstand on a very narrow window base. She needed help and asked me to hold her leg until she got into position. It required touching the model and staring at things normally left private—both big no-nos for a photographer. And we kinda shot the spread; the model loved the image.
The sisters came from a very different background than me, and we spent an hour after the shoot talking about life. For whatever reason, the model was chatting nude because it didn't bother her at all. It was one of the weirdest, in a good way, sessions I ever had.
These nude photos are exceptional. Perhaps you can visit an art college or drawing classes to find students willing to model?
love it and love the story telling!!
