I am constanly shooting people on the streets, parks and museums of New York, which may be my favorite place, at least for now. It was only after photographing both of the women in these photos that I found out they are models after looking at their instagram accounts. I did not have the time in either case to develop a rapport with them, as Robert stated in his three part video. They were however, pretty comfortable in front of the camera. As I approached Inga (Wilhemina Models) in the first photo she got up without noticing I was going to take her picture. I saw the light coming up from her phone iluminating her face in the dimly lit room. I was set to take the picture when she walked off. I chased her of course and explained that I needed to take this picture - she obliged I'm happy to say. In the second picture I saw Mecca across the street on Spring engaged in a phone conversation. I told my wife, as she's used to, to wait a minute while I asked Mecca (lulumanagement) to take her picture. As I approached her I smiled and told her that I needed to photograph her and that she was standing in just the right place to have her picture taken. The sign on the door was a bonus, which I did not see from across the street but was sure to include it. I hope that we can shoot again under less pressing circumstances. Hoping to do nudes at some point. The last time was at Pratt Institute with about 10 other students bumping into eachother trying to shoot one model in a 1 hour class. Nothing good came of that.
