Four years ago I took a picture of the Penguin in Times Square. (See last image). We spoke for a while back then and he was telling me he wanted to get away from the Times Square gig and started to ask me about being a photographer. I gave him some tips and told him to stop by my gallery to give him a few lessons. I never saw him again until now. I asked the Times Square Batman about 3 years ago if he knew what ever happened to the Penguin and he said with a smile “him? Oh yeah he became a photographer doing weddings and quinceañeras. “. I was happy to hear that. So a few days ago there was the Penguin, back in action! I was unsure it was him and asked if he was the Penguin I’d always seen there - since there has never been another to replace him. When he looked down and saw my camera he recognized me. We got into talking and he is doing quite well as a photographer. So I asked him why he was back in Times Square. His answer, “I missed it.” Well there you have it. I told him Times Square and New York missed him. More to come with this sequel …

LOVE LOVE LOVE the story Alfred!! And of course, your photos are always amazing, agree with what Khirsch said... ⬇️
Great story behind these photos of the Penguin, an interesting read. Having different angles and focal lengths of this character in multiple photos gives a more comprehensive view of place and personality. Good tonal range of white to black. Also focus on him with a soft background leaves no doubt where the photographer wants the viewer to look.
